SECRET BEACH

On the west (“leeward”) side of Oahu, this is a beautiful, hidden cove with waves crashing over lava rocks and onto the sandy beach. The panorama includes a distant, majestic mountain along the ocean and a nearby grove of palm trees. To reach this site, we cross the grounds of the elegant J.W. Marriott Ihilani Hotel. We usually have Secret’s (as it’s called locally) all to ourselves, other than the several hotel guests who come over at sunset to watch the sun sink below the horizon. The walk to the cove includes a couple of steep steps and rocks to navigate, so this site is for those who are sturdy on their feet. (And high heels tend to sink into the deep sand.) Arch and chair set-up is not available here. We will be happy to bring your wedding cake and table to set up here, and just a few chairs for those who need them. Allow an hour for travel and parking time from Waikiki. Free parking is in a small lot so this site is best for a smaller wedding party, unless of course you are all staying at this fabulous hotel, or are happy to pay $25 to park in the hotel’s parking structure and enjoy this beautiful resort. The scenery and privacy here are enough to make it perfect, but the sun setting on the ocean here makes sunset weddings spectacular.
